Fibromyalgia is a type of long-term syndrome that leaves that patient with many painful symptoms, mostly body pain and muscle tenderness.

Fibromyalgia sufferers experience pain in different areas of the body and it stays for many months.

Due to this ongoing feeling of pain, the FMS patient is always under stress and cannot get adequate sleep. Lack of adequate sleep creates additional symptoms for the patient.

Fibromyalgia currently affects over six million people in the United States and millions more worldwide. It causes chronic pain and debilitating fatigue, along with a host of other symptoms. For unknown reasons, between 80 and 90 percent of those diagnosed with fibromyalgia are women; however, men and children also can be affected. Most people are diagnosed during middle age, although the symptoms often become present earlier in life.
